Hey folks! Before the weekend rolls around, I wanted to share an update on my First to the Future home with NextGen. We’ve been making some awesome progress lately and the house is really starting to come together. What you may not realize from watching the episodes is that this is a really complicated build. We’re dealing with the future here, people!
Most of you know it’s difficult to fix a mistake! Especially with the block walls that are going to be used for the transoms, windows and doors, so it’s important that they are all lined up and ready to go. The correct dimensions have to be perfect the first time around, because unlike wood walls, you can’t make changes easily with brick blocks. That’s the point, right!?
Different areas, like the courtyard and pool, are beginning to see life and I can already picture diving in! Check out some behind-the-scenes photos from the last episode below…
The floor trusses are also coming together (keep scrolling for pics) which are going to reduce framing time and waste. As you can tell by the title, it’s all about being earth-friendly and sustainable, so I’m excited we decided on this architectural aspect for the house.
Last but not least, episode 7 goes into detail about the mono slab we picked for the foundation of the house. From the looks of it, we went with the right choice. Watch the latest episode below and check out the latest pic from the build. Hot off the press!
That’s all the time we have for today, be sure to check back for more #NGHTV updates!
