If you’re subscribed to my newsletters, you already know I’ve been shining a spotlight on a few of my La Independencia team members. I mostly like to keep these updates exclusive to my subscribers, but this one was just too good not to share on the site. An anonymous donor recently contributed $105 to my project and left this message…
This is in honor of CeeCee from Elephants Remember Joplin who auctioned off one of her elephants to me to help Ty. Thank you both for your wonderful work.
If you don’t remember Cee Cee, she’s a very inspirational girl who crocheted this elephant for me during our Joplin makeover.
Cee Cee started Elephants Remember Joplin after the 2011 tornado, and she’s been knitting these little creatures to raise money and awareness for Joplin’s recovery. It’s so incredible to have her continued support. Not only that, but this story reminded me of the impact people can make when we come together for a great cause. How awesome is this anonymous donor? The way she/he helped Cee Cee and La Independencia at the same time is truly incredible. You all inspire me every day. Keep it up.
