Style Spotlight

Spotlight | Sixties Design

When it comes to design influences, it can be hard to pinpoint all of the individual things that have helped form my eye, but the style from the 1960s is one thing I can say with certainty has contributed to my taste.

One thing I love about the 60s is the bold use of color – especially greens, violets, reds, oranges – to add flavor to a space. I’m also drawn on the use of shape and texture as part of a design scheme and the use of spaces like walls.

Here are a few examples of my own designs that showcase my 1960s inspiration:

See what I mean? It’s amazing how, when something inspires you, it will start to show itself in your own work.

What about you – what era inspires your taste and personal style? Let me know in the comments below.
