I find inspiration everywhere – from Mother Nature’s finest, to the clothes in my wardrobe, to the nonstop buzz of crazy NYC. And I have to say, I never get tired of it. This summer during my travels I found some really cool inspiration in some traditional Danish ceramics and I thought they were cool enough to share.
These ceramic designs are a part of Denmark’s old tradition and wealth of potteries. Most of the early ceramics that were made were kept in the kitchen and used as dining ware and for other household necessities. Go figures! But like most things, as ceramic designs and techniques modernized, so did their uses.
Everything from vases, to bowls and mugs, to crazy-looking jars are made from ceramics, and the best part is the earthy patterns and designs incorporated. They really are unique in every sense of the word, not to mention inspirational for my own designs.
I really like exploring worldly designs and comparing them to what we see here in the states. Just more proof that the world is filled with beautiful and unique people, places and especially things.
