Inspired By: The Colors of Spring

Today marks the first official day of spring and I’m pumped. No more winter blues baby, I’m ready to forget my jacket and get outdoors!

Even though spring starts and ends at different times depending on your location, there are a few common things that come to mind when we think of springtime. Flowers blooming prismatic colors, April showers to sing in outside the tub, animals creeping out from months of hibernation… I mean, we can all agree this is a beautiful time of year, right?

Well, not only is it beautiful, but it’s also inspiring.

Nothing says “spring has sprung” like fresh flowers. Blooming gardens and colorful bouquets often inspire whimsical or bright palettes that can brighten your home and your mood. Liven up your walls with a fresh coat of paint and pair with snappy accents to lend a subtle spark in any room. I suggest using classic, nature-inspired colors that you see in your surroundings, like this palette above.

But we can’t have beautiful blooming gardens without a little H20 folks.

April showers are definitely characteristic of the season and inspire a more relaxed and calming color scheme. I really like the 50 shades of grey that fill the sky right before and right after it rains because it evokes a sense of peace and renewal. That being said, a spare palette of blue-greys and soft greens are perfect if you’re looking to create a quiet oasis indoors or out.

If you couldn’t tell, green is an central color during this time of year! And going green is something to consider these days too. I have some eco-friendly ideas to share with you, so stay tuned!
